Pashinyan to skip informal CIS summit due to Covid
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced his decision to skip the informal summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) leaders in St. Petersburg on Wednesday after being diagnosed with Covid-19 a few days ago.
In a Facebook post, Pashinyan revealed that he tested positive for coronavirus on December 23 and spent two days in self-isolation, working from home.
Although his test results came back negative on December 25, "consultations with colleagues led to the decision to refrain from attending the upcoming informal CIS summit."
"A decision on my participation in Thursday's meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be made by the end of the day," Pashinyan added.
