Opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan claims the Armenian government lacks any resources to counter the mounting security threats facing the country.

“Moreover, the agencies responsible for ensuring the country’s security have either been put out of action or significantly weakened through the persistent actions of the current leadership,” Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Saturday.

The Pativ Unem faction MP accused the government of adopting a submissive posture on the international stage while employing authoritarian tactics and poor governance at home.

“Even the initiatives that seemed positive to the public either remained unfinished or failed due to mismanagement or lack of commitment from those in charge,” the deputy stated.

“In essence, they have disarmed the nation, convincing the public that fulfilling Azerbaijan’s demands is the only viable path, while there is no sense in fighting back,” he concluded.
