Armenia's deputy sports minister may resign
Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Karen Giloyan, denies media reports suggesting that he has tendered his resignation.
At the same time, Giloyan, a TV sports commentator, is considering stepping down after his election to the Foundation Board of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
“I remain in office currently, but I I am considering resigning,” the official told News.am Sport.
“I am planning to hold discussions with the WADA president before December 30. As you know, I have been elected to the WADA Foundation Board, which opens up broader opportunities for me. If we reach an agreement by December 30, I will likely submit resignation after the holidays. I’ve been elected to the WADA board for a 3-year term, from 1 January 2025 to 2027,” Giloyan explained.
