MP expelled from Armenia’s ruling party reveals name of his own party
MPs Hovik Aghazaryan and Hakob Aslanyan, who were expelled from Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party in December, have set up their own political party.
In a social media post on Friday, Aghazaryan said the founding members of the party decided to name it Unified National Constitutional Party (UNCP) at a meeting on December 30.
Separately, the group agreed to finalize the drafting of its statute and program by 16 January 2025. The founding congress of the party is scheduled for February 8.
Aghazaryan said earlier that other former Civil Contract members were expected to join the new party.
