Catholicos Aram I closely following California wildfire crisis
In recent hours, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia has reached out multiple times to the Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church in North America, HE Arch. Kegham Khatcherian, to express his concern about the consequences of the wildfire in Los Angeles. The Prelate has relayed the necessary information to Aram I, the Holy See of Cilicia reported.
Currently, strong winds and storm conditions are causing the fire to grow despite the consistent and effective efforts of firefighters. The devastating blaze is primarily impacting Armenian-populated areas, including Pasadena, Glendale, and La Crescenta. Reports indicate that several Armenian families have already sought refuge in safer regions.
"Our churches have announced that their doors are open to anyone in need of shelter," the statement said.
