MP calls for int'l action to prevent Azeri aggression against Armenia
Opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan has warned that Azerbaijani is planning fresh aggression against Armenia, calling on international actors “supporting the Armenian government” to take immediate action to prevent it.
His comments came after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made fresh threats against Armenia, labelling it a “fascist country”.
“The Zangezur corridor must be opened and it will be opened,” he said in a televised interview on Tuesday.
“We don't need statements or resolutions condemning a new aggression. The priority now is to prevent Azerbaijan's next act of aggression,” Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
The Pativ Unem faction MP stated that Aliyev’s latest threats “came as a surprise” for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his administration after the major concessions they have made to Azerbaijan.
“They are again preparing the Armenian people for more concessions to Azerbaijan,” he wrote.
Abrahamyan criticized the Pashinyan government for focusing its resources on propaganda against the opposition and pursuing its domestic agenda.
