US refrains from commenting on strategic partnership with Armenia for now
The United States “has nothing to comment on or announce at this point” regarding the potential signing of a strategic partnership agreement with Armenia, the U.S. State Department told the Voice of America's Armenian Service.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said Armenia and the U.S. could sign an agreement on strategic partnership.
“We have a strategic dialogue which we've agreed to upgrade to strategic partnership,” Mirzoyan said. “A document or documents regarding the issue are certainly under discussion.”
The foreign minister announced that officials from the two countries were expected to hold more talks on the matter.
