Armenian State Symphony Orchestra to perform at Dubai Opera
The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra will present the Symphonic Rock concert series in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from January 17 to 19, 2025. The orchestra is traveling to the UAE at the invitation of Dubai Opera, it reported on Friday.
On January 17 and 18, the orchestra will perform symphonic interpretations of the legendary rock bands Led Zeppelin and Nirvana. On January 19, the orchestra will showcase symphonic versions of the internationally acclaimed hits by the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Symphonic Zeppelin and Symphonic Nirvana are internationally renowned projects that are regularly performed worldwide. In 2022, the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra presented Symphonic Zeppelin to Armenian audiences. The Symphonic Jackson concert project is one of a kind, as it was created in Armenia through the initiative of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
“This is the first time we are presenting the Symphonic Jackson project on an international stage. It is a major achievement to create such a high-quality project in Armenia and then showcase it abroad,” says the Director of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Sargis Balbabyan.
The January 17 and 18 concerts will be conducted by Richard Sidwell (UK), while Sergey Smbatyan, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, will lead the January 19 performance.
