Minister reports moderate situation of acute respiratory infections in Armenia
The situation regarding acute respiratory infections, including COVID-19 and influenza, is currently stable in Armenia.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan stated that no new cases of metapneumovirus had been confirmed in Armenia this year. The first cases of the virus were reported in the country in 2023.
The minister highlighted the ongoing daily monitoring of the situation in the region, with a focus on assessing the risk of any potential spread to Armenia.
"Overall, we are currently experiencing a moderate situation regarding acute respiratory infections, COVID-19 and influenza, and there are no immediate concerns," Avanesyan stated. "However, it's important to acknowledge the risk for increased seasonal activity."
