Armenian expert reacts to Gaza ceasefire deal
Turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan claims that the Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal between Israel and Hamas marks the end of another phase in the conflict.
“In Gaza, the latest phase of the Israeli-Palestinian war, which began in October 2023, officially ended with a ceasefire announced last night. However, this does not signal the end of the war itself, but rather the conclusion of another chapter in the conflict,” he wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
The expert emphasized that the war rooted in the Arab-Israeli conflict “is likely to persist indefinitely as long as the parties involved continue to exist.”
"A war only truly ends when one of the sides ceases to exist. This well-established truth is particularly acknowledged in Turkey,” he stated.
