Opposition MP pins unified map of Armenia and Artsakh to parliament rostrum
At a session of the Armenian National Assembly on Monday, Anna Mkrtchyan, an MP from the opposition Pativ Unem faction, criticized the map of Armenia displayed on the parliament wall, calling it a "piece of scrap metal erasing half of Armenia.”
She questioned whether the public had entrusted the government with the homeland in such a state.
Mkrtchyan then presented a unified map of Armenia and Artsakh, stating, "Just a few years ago, our homeland looked like this," and pinned it to the parliament rostrum.
In response, Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan condemned her remarks, accusing her of referring to Armenia's map as scrap metal.
