US, Turkey discuss Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone call with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss, among other things, the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process.
"Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan yesterday to reaffirm the importance of U.S.-Türkiye relations, Türkiye’s role as a key NATO Ally, and our shared interests in the region," the State Department said in a statement.
"The Secretary and the Foreign Minister also discussed the importance of a durable and dignified peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Secretary also expressed his deepest condolences for the lives lost and those injured in the tragic hotel fire in Bolu," it added.
