
Former Artsakh army chief to remain in custody
Lieutenant-General Mikayel Arzumanyan, a former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, who has been detained for more than 2.5 years, will remain in custody pending a court ruling in his case.
The Anti-Corruption Court in Yerevan, presided over by judge Vardges Sargsyan, on Wednesday extended his detention by another three months, the court confirmed to Pastinfo.
The criminal case has been in court since 2023 and is currently in the main trial phase, with witnesses being questioned. Some witnesses have already provided testimony. The trial is being held behind closed doors.
Arzumanyan was arrested in 2022 on charges of negligence and dereliction of his official duties during the 2020 Artsakh war.
