Yerevan City Council approves new one-ride ticket fare
The Yerevan City Council has approved a decision to set the cost of a single-ride ticket at 150 drams, effective February 1. The decision was backed by 33 councilors at an emergency meeting on Friday.
The unified ticketing system will remain in place.
“Dear Yerevan residents, today the City Council is adopting a decision that you have demanded. I see no retreat or cause for shame here, because one of the key principles of democracy is for the government to listen to its citizens’ concerns and demands, and whenever possible, fulfill them,” Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced.
