During the sham trial of Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan, a country that claims to be holding "peace talks" with Armenia, the prosecutor's primary focus shifted towards Armenia, presenting the defendants as mere executors of Armenia's orders, opposition Pativ Unem faction MP Tigran Abrahamyan says.

“From the very beginning, Baku’s target was not so much the 23 Armenians who ended up in captivity, but rather the launch of a new campaign against Armenia through their 'trial'," he wrote on Facebook on Friday.

"It's no coincidence that Azerbaijan highlighted the missile strike on Ganja Airport, attributing it to Armenian authorities through fabricated testimonies. Moving forward, the entire process and the verdict will follow this narrative, portraying Armenia as an 'aggressor' and an 'occupier'. Azerbaijan will not stop here. The verdict will allow the country to take further actions, using fabricated evidence to justify its goals.

"While Pashinyan’s government is appeasing Turkey and Azerbaijan with anti-Armenian statements and offering them various services, new 'files' against Armenia continue to emerge," Abrahamyan added.
