Azerbaijanis desecrated Armenian church altar in Artsakh
In February 2025, photos circulating online revealed that Azerbaijani forces damaged the altar of Tsitsernavank in Artsakh's Kashatagh region.
The images show that the holy table and the cross holder were shattered, the Monument Watch reported.
Back in 2023, representatives of Aghvan-Udi community of Azerbaijan desecrated and damaged the church.
Since December 2020, when the Kashatagh region fell under Azerbaijani control, Tsitsernavank has become a target of the Aghvan-Udi community propaganda. The church continues to face repeated desecration.
