Expert: No German official among those welcoming Pashinyan in Munich
Information security expert Karen Vrtanesyan claims that no German officials were present to welcome Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan upon his arrival in Munich, citing photos posted on the prime minister’s official website.
“Nikol has traveled to Germany for the Munich Security Conference and the PM's office has shared photos of his arrival. Not a single German official can be seen among those welcoming him. All the individuals in the photos are Armenian officials, who likely traveled on the same flight as Pashinyan,” Vrtanesyan wrote on Facebook on Friday.
The expert suggested that the welcoming ceremony may have been entirely staged.
Among those present was Dr. Christine Zasse, Honorary Consul of Armenia in Bavaria. While she is German, she does not hold a government position in Germany.
Vrtanesyan also dismissed claims by Pashinyan’s supporters and some experts regarding the “unprecedented growth of Armenia’s sovereignty".
“Incidentally, the Armenian National Assembly approved a bill to launch the country’s accession process to the European Union just a few days ago,” he added.
