Political analyst: Pashinyan close to admitting his 'historical crime'
Political analyst Suren Surenyants has commented on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recent statements regarding the settlement plan for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Pashinyan acknowledged on Thursday that the OSCE Minsk Group offered Armenia and Azerbaijan an updated plan to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict one year after he came to power in 2018, contradicting his earlier claims that there was no document on the negotiating table.
“In recent years, I have consistently raised this issue in my interviews, affirming the existence of such a settlement plan,” Surenyants wrote on Facebook on Friday.
“The pressure on Pashinyan is mounting: confronted with irrefutable facts, he is now being forced to make confessions, contradicting his previous claims.
"Pashinyan will eventually be compelled to admit that he not only misled the Armenian people by denying the existence of a settlement document, but also refused to negotiate altogether, which effectively paved the way for the 44-day war. Pashinyan is nearing the point where he will acknowledge his historical crime,” the analyst stated.
