Former deputy chief of Armenian army released on bail
Lieutenant-General Tiran Khachatryan, the former deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, has been released on bail.
On Tuesday, a Yerevan court ruled to replace his arrest with bail set at 10 million drams ($25,000) and imposed a travel ban.
Khachatryan, a national hero, was released immediately from the courtroom.
The prosecutor had requested the court to extend his detention by three months.
Khachatryan was arrested in January on charges of negligence during the 2020 Artsakh war.
