Ameriabank named Armenia's Best Investment Bank for 2025 by Global Finance

For the tenth consecutive year, Ameriabank has been named the Best Investment Bank in Armenia by Global Finance magazine. The magazine’s editorial team, together with industry experts, evaluated and selected winners based on various criteria, including bank applications, market share, number and size of deals, service quality, responsiveness to market conditions, innovation, pricing, after-market performance of underwritings, and market reputation.

“The investment banking sector remains strong but faces headwinds from continued high interest rates—despite some easing—as well as regulatory scrutiny and geopolitical uncertainties that impact deal-making,” said Joseph D. Giarraputo, founder and editorial director of Global Finance. “Meanwhile, M&A activity is showing signs of recovery, and banks are seeing growth in advisory services and capital markets, particularly in sectors like technology and renewable energy. Global Finance is proud to recognize the leading organizations in investment banking with the World’s Best Investment Bank Awards for 2025.”

Shushanik Hovsepyan, Head of Capital Markets at Ameriabank, commented on Ameriabank’s achievement: “We are honored receiving the Best Investment Bank in Armenia award for the tenth year in a row. For years this designation has served as a testament to our uncontested leadership in managing and concluding complex transactions for our clients. It highlights our expertise in structuring financial solutions for our clients and creating investment opportunities. As we celebrate this achievement, we remain committed to delivering service excellence, driving innovation, and supporting our clients in achieving their ambitious financial goals.”

Ameriabank is the leading corporate and investment bank in Armenia, holding top positions by all key metrics and offering a full suite of investment banking and advisory solutions with strong sectorial expertise.

In 2024, Ameriabank's Investment Banking achieved significant milestones. The Capital Markets successfully delivered 23 corporate bond placements, including 4 large debt capital markets projects for Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC (ENA). Notably, Ameriabank acted as the sole arranger for two green bond tranches of USD 30 million each in July and August, followed by two additional bond issuances in November, totaling USD 35 million.

During the reporting period, Ameriabank also led first-ever Sustainability-Linked Bond issuance in Armenia for Telecom Armenia OJSC, with a total volume of USD 75 million. The bank maintained its leadership in the local market as an issuer as well with a 34% share as of January 2025, issuing and placing 14 bond tranches worth approximately USD 212 million during 2024.

Ameriabank continues its leadership in the market in 2025 with the launch of the placement of USD 80 million bonds issued by Viva Armenia, marking one of the largest capital markets deals in the local market.

Since 2023, Ameriabank has been at the forefront of innovation in Brokerage services as well with the launch of MyInvest, a cutting-edge investment platform designed to simplify and enhance brokerage services. MyInvest empowers investors with seamless access to market opportunities and has significantly enhanced retail market participation in Ameriabank’s capital markets deals.
