Armenia's third President Serzh Sargsyan issued a message on the Artsakh Revival Day and the 37th anniversary of the Karabakh movement marked on February 20.

Below is the full message shared by Sargsyan’s office.

"MEMORY IS OUR STRENGTH

▪️To withstand the imminent dangers,
▪️ To heal from the pain of loss,
▪️ To avoid past mistakes,
▪️ To reassess the present,
▪️ To honor and glorify our victories and heroes,
▪️ To fight for the fundamental right to live with dignity, freely and independently in our homeland.

MEMORY GUIDES OUR WAY FORWARD

▪️ We remember the Karabakh movement, which gave rise to the national awakening and the Artsakh national liberation struggle that began 37 years ago and culminated in victory.
▪️ We remember those who dismantled the state, betrayed the people, and squandered the hard-fought victories.

MEMORY IS OUR RESOLVE TO ACT

▪️ To categorically reject the ideology imposed by Armenia’s current leaders that urges us to forget our roots, history, homeland and national dignity,
▪️ To refuse false and dangerous narratives about the state and homeland,
▪️ To cast off indifference,
▪️ To overcome feara,
▪️ To remain vigilant,
▪️ To carefully assess risks,
▪️ To achieve victory once again,
▪️ A nation with no memory has no future.
