Armenian MP: Baku seems to be in a 'wait-and-see mode'
Azerbaijan appears to have adopted a “wait-and-see” stance in peace treaty negotiations with Armenia, opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan says.
“Although Azerbaijan repeatedly makes statements regarding peace talks with Armenia, it seems that Baku is in a wait-and-see mode," he wrote on Facebook on Monday.
The Pativ Unem faction MP stated that since the new U.S. administration took office, various countries have been trying to clarify its position on their policies and conflicts.
"This is less about how the U.S. envisions solutions and more about whether Washington considers the use of force a red line in specific situations or if certain issues are simply not a priority for it at this stage," he said.
“The possible settlement of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and broader U.S.-Russia agreements will inevitably impact the South Caucasus, shaping the course of events in the region," Abrahamyan added.
