ARARAT Bourbon Cask. Yerevan Brandy Company Presents New Limited Series

ARARAT Bourbon Cask is yet another innovation of Yerevan Brandy Company – an 8-year-old Armenian brandy, produced according to all the classic rules of Armenian brandy making from selected grapes grown in Armenia. At the same time, ARARAT Bourbon Cask is the first ever Armenian brandy aged in the barrels, that were previously served for bourbon aging.

Made exclusively for the Armenian market, ARARAT Bourbon Cask is a sincere tribute to the consumers for their loyalty to genuine traditions and profound respect for the brand passed down from generation to generation.

The history of ARARAT, which dates back to 1887, can be described as a series of innovations and establishing of new rules. The creation of the first Armenian vintage brandy, first international recognition in the very beginning of the XX century, the exploration of the beauty of undistilled water, creation of the strongest brandy, launch of the Flavours range – these innovations were not only groundbreaking but also became benchmarks. The mastery and expertise of the ARARAT brandy makers have always been a stable foundation for refining the traditions and embracing audacious innovations, which not only embodied their time but often went beyond it.

Today Yerevan Brandy Company presents ARARAT Bourbon Cask – a harmonious reflection of the pioneer’s spirit, for whom rich heritage serves as an opportunity to learn from the past and becomes a solid basis to go beyond. ARARAT Bourbon Cask unveils a completely new facet of what consumers have cherished for decades.

ARARAT Bourbon Cask is an Armenian brandy created through a new interpretation of the longest and perhaps the most untouchable stage of the entire production process – aging. It is worth mentioning that aging of the brandy spirits in oak barrels is not only an unbreakable tradition in Armenian brandy-making but also a legal requirement. The masters who created ARARAT Bourbon Cask strictly followed this tradition and expanded the boundaries of it by introducing new approach more typical of whisky aging. Like all ARARAT brandies ARARAT Bourbon Cask was also aged in oak barrels; however, unlike the rest brandies of ARARAT range, these spirits were aged for eight years in specially selected oak barrels that had previously been used for bourbon aging. This innovative approach gives ARARAT Bourbon Cask a unique character and organoleptic profile which is unmatched by any other brandy of ARARAT range.
“ARARAT Bourbon Cask stands out from the entire ARARAT range brandies, which one will easily notice by its unique and completely new organoleptic profile, where a distinctive touch is added to the rich palette of ARARAT’s taste. This brandy also has an elegant dark amber color, enriched with delightful reflections of the gold. True connoisseurs of ARARAT brandy will immediately feel the soft, rich taste of ARARAT harmonized with notes of sweet malt and smoky bourbon.

ARARAT brandy appreciators will also notice an unusual for ARARAT range age – 8 years. It is this 8-year aging process that has revealed the unique characteristics of this brandy, which rightfully earns its place in the premium range of ARARAT brandies. The product’s uniqueness is also enhanced by the fact that the blend consists of the spirits of the same age – something more typical whiskey production, which has undoubtedly influenced the character of the drink”, says Hamlet Antonyan, Head of Production of the Yerevan Brandy Company.

ARARAT Bourbon Cask will be presented to consumers in vibrant packaging adorned with the ARARAT brand symbol – the Phoenix. Depicted with wide spread wings, the Phoenix symbolically reaffirms the brand’s commitment to traditions and audacity to innovate.

“The successful premiumization strategy of ARARAT is now complemented by another product – ARARAT Bourbon Cask Armenian brandy, which we are launching in a limited edition exclusively in Armenia. ARARAT has an extensive export map, but for us the Armenian market has always been of special significance. Here, the consumers’ connection with the brand goes beyond just quality characteristics or modern packaging. In Armenia, consumers engage with ARARAT on a level of historical memory. Very often they are true connoisseurs of the brand. With ARARAT Bourbon Cask we offer a new facet of the legendary brand, which is natural continuation of its traditions and heritage. With this product we are enriching the premium range of ARARAT and paying tribute to appreciators of the brand and attracting new consumers”, notes Serge Khachatryan, Chief Operating Officer of Yerevan Brandy Company.
