MP: Azerbaijan repeats demands to Armenia almost daily
Azerbaijan discusses various issues in negotiations with Armenia but avoids addressing the key provisions that have not been agreed upon, opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan states.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, he highlighted that the provisions concern the presence of third-party forces along the two countries' borders and the withdrawal of lawsuits against each other in international courts.
"Meanwhile, Azerbaijan almost daily urges or threatens Armenia to change its constitution, open a corridor, ensure the return of so-called Azerbaijani refugees, pursue demilitarization and more,” Abrahamyan wrote.
"I am convinced that even if Armenia were to comply with these demands – something that is not far from happening – Azerbaijan would not only persist with its baseless claims but also make new ones. A government that embodies and embraces defeatism is doomed to fail in any country," the MP added.
