NKR Defense Army spokesperson: Azerbaijan tries to do favor to Turkey with recent escalations at frontline
The tension at the frontline of the NKR and Azerbaijani troops has recently escalated again. A similar situation is observed in the information field, as well. To get comments on the current situation, Panorama.am interviewed Senor Hasratyan, the head of the press service of the NKR Defense Army.
- What is the reason of the recent incidents in the conflict zone?
- The recent escalations, the destabilization of the situation and the frequency of the adversary side’s provocations on the line of contact of the troops and on the Armenian border once again prove that the Azerbaijani regime tries to do favors for its “brother” Turkey’s interests.
- But this situation is nothing new to us.
- Certainly. Azerbaijan’s provocations at the frontline on the eve and during the important events for the Armenians and state holidays are nothing new but this year they stand out with their intensity.
- When especially did the activity of the adversary side become more intensive?
- Those destabilizing actions, we can say, became more intensive since early 2015.
- That is to say, they are connected with the Armenian Genocide Centennial?
- Exactly! With these actions the Azerbaijani authorities try to do an “exclusive” favor to official Ankara pursuing the aim to derail the events dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial. We all remember that a hundred years ago, the Ottoman Empire, whose successor is today's Turkey, was leading its policy by the slogan ''No Armenians, no Armenian question.” Today Azerbaijan continues this policy without selecting methods and tries to harm the Armenians by any means. But their plans are doomed to failure, because today, unlike those times, we have got an organized and efficient army, which is the main obstacle to Turkey's "Armenia without Armenians" policy implementation, at the same time being the sole guarantor of the security and well-being of the Armenian nation and the main guardian of the peace and stability in the region.
