Seyran Ohanyan: Military drills in Azerbaijan give no cause for concern
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan commented today on the statements made recently in connection with the exercises of Azerbaijani troops. According to him, various kinds of statements, as well as measures which can be scheduled or unscheduled ones, should not be taken seriously.
“The situation is controlled by the command staff of the Armenian armed forces and the respective services in charge of national security. Appropriate measures are taken in case of tension. The current events conducted by Azerbaijan give no cause for concern. We carry out our work on a daily basis, “ the minister told reporters during his visit today to the Central Assembly Station of Armenian Defense Ministry.
To remind, Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh issued a statement yesterday saying that in contrast to the situation in the last few day, Azerbaijan began to violate the ceasefire more frequently on the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan and on July 14 used 60 mm mortars in the southern direction, in additions to small arms.
Defense Ministry of Karabakh reported today that the Azerbaijani armed forces have recently intensified training flights that are conducted 10-15 kilometers away from the line of contact.
“The air defense force of NKR promptly detects training flights of Azerbaijani aircraft and vigilantly tracks their trajectory.
‘The command of NKR Defense Army warns that the air defense will take all necessary measures to destroy air targets of the enemy in case of violation of the airspace of Artsakh. The sky of Artsakh is safe and under constant control of the air defense forces,” Defense Ministry of Karabakh said in a statement
