Iranian presidential candidate: Azerbaijan is the same as Iran
Azerbaijan is the same as Iran, Tehran mayor, Iranian presidential candidate Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said while visiting Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, according to jamnews.ir.
The Iranian presidential candidate highly appreciated the geographical position and capabilities of East Azerbaijan province.
“Just as Iran has an important position in the region, Azerbaijan [East Azerbaijan province] has an important significance for Iran. Azerbaijan’s progress is Iran’s progress and its regression is Iran’s regression,” he said.
Ghalibaf noted that Iran’s East Azerbaijan province also had an important role in Iran’s history. According to him, Iran’s industry was created in Tabriz. Tabriz is one of the first cities – the first school, theater and publishing house were established in that city.
