A US couple has been arrested in the state of West Virginia for allegedly selling information on nuclear warships to what they believed was a foreign state, the Justice Department said Sunday. Jonathan Toebbe, who worked as a nuclear engineer for the US Navy, and his wife Diana -- both in their forties -- were arrested by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents on Saturday and charged with violating the Atomic Energy Act in a criminal complaint, the Justice Department said in a statement.

Jeff Bezos' space company Blue Origin said on Sunday it had pushed this week's launch target of its New Shepard vehicle to Wednesday, delaying "Star Trek" actor William Shatner's sojourn to the edge of space by a day. "Due to forecasted winds on Tuesday, October 12, Blue Origin's mission operations team has made the decision to delay the launch of NS-18 and is now targeting Wednesday, October 13," the company said in a statement.

The man regarded as the "father of Pakistan's nuclear bomb", Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, has died aged 85 after being hospitalised with Covid-19. Dr Khan was hailed as a national hero for transforming his country into the world's first Islamic nuclear power. But he was also notorious for having smuggled nuclear secrets to states including North Korea and Iran. Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan had lost a "national icon".

A car bomb targeting the governor’s convoy shook Yemen’s southern port city of Aden on Sunday killing at least six people. Governor Ahmed Lamlas and Agriculture Minister Salem al-Suqatri, both members of a separatist group in southern Yemen, survived the “terrorist assassination attempt”, the state news agency reported.

Ancient Mexican artefacts recovered from abroad are among the archaeological treasures on display at an exhibition showcasing the country's cultural heritage 200 years after it won independence from Spain. Titled "The Greatness of Mexico," the exhibition at the National Museum of Anthropology and another site showcases 1,500 rare pieces, including Mayan sculptures and Aztec codices. Almost half of them are on display in Mexico for the first time, having been loaned or returned by European countries or collectors.

A single-engine plane crashed and caught fire on Friday during takeoff at an airport just northeast of Atlanta, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Four people on board the Cessna 210 were killed, according to Capt. Jaeson Daniels with DeKalb County Fire Rescue. The plane was taking off from DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Chamblee, Georgia, around 1:11 p.m. local time on Friday.

Former US President Donald Trump "grossly exaggerated" the profitability of his Washington DC hotel, a probe by a congressional committee has found. It also said he appeared to hide "potential conflicts of interest". The Trump International Hotel lost over $70m (£51.3m) during his term, though Mr Trump had previously claimed it earned at least $150m during that time. The Trump Organization has denied wrongdoing and called the report "misleading".

Discussions between Iran and Saudi Arabia are on the right track but it will take more time to restore bilateral ties, Iran's foreign minister said in Beirut Friday.
