Embassy of Armenia to Japan touches upon commemoration of anti-Armenian pogrom victims in Smugait 34 years ago
«The February 27-29 Armenian massacre in Smugait was a continuation of Azerbaijani authorities' unintelligible policy on racism and ethnic cleansing of Armenian residents, killing and deportation of Armenian citizens, but never stopped. According to official statistics, 32 Armenians were killed and hundreds injured. 14,000 Armenians in Smugait had to leave the city within days. But the true scale of atrocities is still unknown»,- said the statement.
