Endeavor Content, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way and Brad Weston's Makeready have picked up the English-language remake rights to Thomas Vinterberg's Another Round (Druk), the Danish dramedy that won the Oscar for best international film on Sunday night, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Endeavor and Makeready are set to finance the movie remake that potentially could star DiCaprio. The Hunt director Vinterberg's Danish dramedy stars Mads Mikkelsen as a day-drinking high school teacher who endures a midlife crisis driven by alcohol abuse.

Israel is committing the crimes of apartheid and persecution against Arabs in the occupied territories and Israel itself, Human Rights Watch says. In a new report, it says Israel has a policy "to maintain the domination by Jewish Israelis over Palestinians", including those who are its citizens. Apartheid amounts to state-sanctioned racial discrimination and is considered a crime against humanity. Israel's foreign ministry has rejected the report as "preposterous and false".

A 12-year-old Belfast girl says she just tries to "run as fast as I can" after producing a 5km time of 16 minutes 40 seconds - a world record for her age. Emer McKee set the remarkable time while running in an event at Down Royal Racecourse over the weekend. The running prodigy is a member of the Willowfield Club in East Belfast.

Denmark aims to start local production of coronavirus vaccines in 2022, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said, after previously expressing concern over the European Union's handling of vaccine procurement. A new plant to produce vaccines will be owned and operated by the private sector and a tendering process and will be announced in a few weeks, she told Danish media late on Monday.

Vladislav Ivanov, a 27-year-old from Vladivostok, was kicked out of the Produce Camp 2021 on Saturday after viewers ignored his pleas to leave and backed him all the way to the final. Ivanov, who speaks Mandarin, joined the show as a Chinese translator. But he said he was invited to sign up as a contestant after the directors noticed his good looks. “They asked if I’d like to try a new life,” Ivanov said during the show.

China's foreign ministry on Tuesday said it had lodged solemn representations to Japan over its annual diplomacy report which expressed grave concerns on China's military capabilities and maritime activities. A terrifying photo of one of the sea's most venomous creatures has gone viral online after two day-trippers discovered the fish while kayaking. The two kayakers were paddling in waters near Townsville in North Queensland on Sunday when one of their oars struck an object. The kayakers lifted the oar and were horrified to discover a stonefish, one of the most venomous fish in the ocean, hanging off the paddle. The photo of the deadly fish has since been inundated with hundreds of comments and reactions.
A poignant video has emerged showing the crew of a sunken Indonesian submarine singing happily together on board their vessel. The video, filmed a few weeks before the KRI Nanggala 402 went down with all hands lost, shows some of the 53-strong crew singing Sampai Jumpa, an Indonesian hit whose title means Goodbye. Submarine commander Heri Oktavian is among those gathered around a seaman strumming an acoustic guitar.

Myanmar's junta will give "careful consideration to constructive suggestions" from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on ways to resolve violent turmoil triggered by a Feb. 1 coup, the junta said. "The suggestions would be positively considered if it ... serves the interests of the country and was based on purposes and principles enshrined in" ASEAN, it said in a statement published on Tuesday.

A group of French volunteers have emerged from a cave after a 40-day study exploring the limits of human adaptability to isolation. The 15 participants lived in the Lombrives cave in south-west France with no phones, clocks or sunlight. They slept in tents, made their own electricity, and had no contact with the outside world. The project aimed to test how people respond to losing their sense of time and space.

An Italian man is to leave the island he has lived on for more than 30 years after pressure from authorities. Mauro Morandi, 81, moved to Budelli in 1989. Last year, however, Mr Morandi said the owners of the island, which is famed for its pink beach, wanted him to relocate.

A man has made a running jump, feet-first, through the open window of a moving car in Albania’s capital to stop the driver spinning erratically through the city’s Skanderbeg Square. Footage captured by dozens of cameras set up to report on the country’s general election shows the car’s wheels screeching as it reverses in circles around the pedestrianised square.
