China’s largest city of Shanghai will soon begin lifting lockdown in communities that report no positive cases within 14 days after another round of COVID-19 testing, authorities said Saturday. The fresh round of testing comes as the city reported about 23,000 cases on Saturday, most of them asymptomatic. Large swathes of Shanghai, with a population of 26 million, have been under lockdown since March 28, leading to complaints from residents about shortages of food and basic necessities.

Israeli security forces shot dead a Palestinian on Saturday in the West Bank refugee camp of Jenin, home of the gunman behind a recent deadly Tel Aviv attack, the Palestinian health ministry said. The Israeli army told AFP a military operation was ongoing in the Jenin camp, a stronghold of Palestinian armed factions in the north of the occupied West Bank. The Palestinian health ministry said five others were wounded in Jenin by Israeli gunfire.
At least a dozen soldiers and four paramilitary fighters were killed during an attack on an army base in Burkina Faso’s Sanmatenga province. The assault on Friday in the northern region also left more than 20 soldiers wounded, the army said in a statement.

A Kinder chocolate factory in Belgium has been ordered to close after it was linked to dozens of salmonella cases. Belgium's food safety authority has also ordered the recall of all Kinder products made at the factory in Arlon, which is owned by Ferrero. Suspected salmonella cases linked to Kinder chocolate have been reported in countries including the UK, Germany, France and Belgium. Ferrero has apologised and acknowledged "internal failures".

A sexual assault claim which had been filed by an unnamed woman against US rapper Snoop Dogg has been withdrawn. The woman, identified in the lawsuit as Jane Doe, had accused the US rapper of sexually assaulting her after attending one of his concerts in 2013. Snoop Dogg's representatives said the allegations were false and welcomed the voluntary dismissal. The claim was pulled earlier this week, nearly two months after it was filed in the Central District of California.

The scientists in Cambridge believe that they can do the same thing with other tissues in the body. The eventual aim is to develop treatments for age-related diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and neurological disorders. The flooding at Abriaqui in the Antioquia department surprised a group of miners as they were eating dinner on Wednesday evening, mayor Hector Orrego told local television. Israel was on high alert after a Palestinian terrorist killed two people and injured several other on a busy street in central Tel Aviv on Thursday night. The terrorist, identified as 28-year-old Ra’ad Fathi Hazem from the Jenin refugee camp, was killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli forces several kilometers away in Jaffa on early on Friday morning.
