The army said on Friday the nine-day military operation beginning on 23 March took place in Sahel’s Moura area – which it termed a “terrorist fiefdom”. The announcement comes as numerous social media reports in Mali this week alleged that dozens of people, including civilians, had been killed in Moura. But the army’s statement said that soldiers killed 203 militants, arrested 51 people and seized large quantities of weapons.

Israeli forces killed three Palestinian militants in a firefight in the occupied West Bank early Saturday, police said. Israeli media said four members of a police counter-terrorism unit of the Israeli police were wounded, one of them seriously. The troops came under fire as they attempted to arrest suspected militants in the northern West Bank. Tensions have soared in recent days after Palestinian assailants killed 11 Israelis in separate attacks across the country.

A miniature unpublished manuscript written by Charlotte Brontë when she was 13 years old will go on sale at a New York City book fair later this month. The work titled "A Book of Ryhmes by Charlotte Brontë, Sold by Nobody, and Printed by Herself" is smaller than a playing card -- yet it holds a literary treasure of 10 poems by the "Jane Eyre" author. The manuscript, dated December 1829, has not been seen publicly since it was sold in New York in 1916, according to Henry Wessells, an associate at James Cummins Bookseller.

Tunisian anti-terrorism police summoned the country's main opposition figure for questioning on Friday, as a political crisis deepens in the wake of President Kais Saied's move to dissolve parliament and impose one-man rule. Rached Ghannouchi, head of the Islamist Ennahda party and speaker of the dissolved parliament, was summoned to appear later on Friday, his office said, after investigations were opened into other members of the chamber who had defied Saied.

A Hawaii judge has granted a couple's request for a temporary restraining order against Ezra Miller. The couple filed a petition for a temporary restraining order Tuesday, alleging that Miller burst into their bedroom and threatened them in Hilo, a small town on the Big Island. The petition also accused Miller of stealing some of their belongings, including a passport and wallet. An accident in a mine in central Serbia killed at least eight people and wounded 20 Friday, state Serbian television RTS reported. The accident in the Soko coal mine happened around 5 a.m. The RTS report says part of the mine pit collapsed trapping the miners inside. The head of the medical center in nearby Aleksinac, Rodoljub Zivadinovic, said that 18 people have been hospitalized there, mostly with light injuries.
