A rare albino jaguarundi cub discovered in Colombia is the first of its kind to be found in the country. Officials spotted the female cub in the Aburra Valley metropolitan area and transferred it to a nearby conservation park for medical treatment. The cub is completely white with red eyes. The tiny cub will live at the park because its white fur limits its ability to survive in the wild.

Lebanese authorities on Wednesday intercepted nine million pills of the recreational drug captagon inside a shipment of lemons, foiling an attempt to smuggle them to the Gulf, media reported. Captagon - a mix of amphetamines also known as the "poor man’s cocaine" - is one of the more popular recreational drugs among affluent youth in the Middle East.

A small gold bible, once perhaps owned by a medieval aristocrat or royal, has been found by a metal detectorist. NHS nurse Buffy Bailey, from Lancaster, found the book while searching farmland near York with her husband Ian. The 600-year-old object, which is just 0.5in (1.5cm) long, could be worth more than £100,000, Mrs Bailey said. An expert described it as an "exceptionally unique" artefact which would have originally been owned by someone "incredibly wealthy".

Israel unveiled a package of "confidence-building measures" for the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, after Defence Minister Benny Gantz hosted talks with Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas on his first visit in years. At least 31 people were killed in the collapse of a private gold mine in western Sudan, a mining official told Reuters on Tuesday. “Thirty-one bodies were recovered after the collapse of a gold mine in En Nahud locality in West Kurdufan state.
