With protest outside, Armenian parliament discusses Nairit issue
The issue of setting up an interim parliamentary commission to deal with problems concerning Nairit plant is being discussed in the Armenian parliament by special order. If created, the commission is expected to examine the plant’s privatization, loan liabilities and reasons of non-realization of economic activities in sufficient amounts.
Meanwhile, ARFD Nikol Aghbalyan Student Association has staged a protest outside the parliament. Nairit’s employees are expected to join the protest soon.
The protest participants demand that MPs support the creation of the commission as they believe that the plant’s relaunch will enable to solve a number of social problems in the country.
