Baku toughens foreign journalists’ entry conditions
Foreign media accreditation procedures have been made stricter in Azerbaijan. The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan approved ‘The rules of foreign media representatives’ accreditation in Azerbaijan’ in March, and they came into force on April 4. The rules refer to the foreign media correspondents and cameramen working in Azerbaijan. According to the rules, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan can refuse accreditation if the documents submitted do not match the rules or if the foreign media representative has visited NKR without the permission of the Azerbaijani side, Azerbaijani information agency Turan reports.
According to the article, the foreign media representative’s application for accreditation in Azerbaijan is considered within 30 days. In case the application is approved, he gets an accreditation card for a year.
