According to The Global Information Technology Report 2015, 2015 is formed on the basis of four subindexes: existence of conditions for development of ICT (Environment subindex), readiness of ICT among the population, businesses and government (Readiness subindex), the level of usage of ICT in public, commercial and state sectors (Usage subindex), and also impacts of ICTs on the economy and society at large (Impact subindex).
While compiling the NRI, 53 indicators were considered. The top five countries were: Singapore, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Norway. NRI index is being compiled since 2001 on the basis of publicly available data and the results of business executive opinion surveys. NRI determines the capacity of countries to mobilize ICT evaluating the overall political and business environment. The reckoning is based on an assessment of countries' economy readiness to maximize the efficient use of ICT.
