Armenian FM meets with OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs
Today, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Ambassadors Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, Jacques Faure of France and James Warlick of the United States of America as well as Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, the press service of Armenian Foreign Ministry reports.
The two sides discussed possible ways to advance the peace process.
The Co-Chairs presented their impressions of the meetings held in Baku.
Edward Nalbandian stressed the importance of preventing continuous provocations of the Azeri side, noting that Armenia absolutely shares the Co-Chairs’ view that the incidents on the border and the Line of Contact hinder the peace process and reduce the possibilities of establishing peace.
In this context, Armenia’s Foreign Minister said that Armenia shares the Co-Chairs’ view on the necessity to fully implement the trilateral agreement on ceasefire, signed in May 1994, and agreement on strengthening the ceasefire, signed in February 1995, as well as the necessity to withdraw snipers from the Line of Contact and create mechanisms to investigate border incidents.
